membership bylaws, and rules

= 1)&n= bsp; Membership in the Y-City Bassmaster= s is open to anyone 6 yrs of age or older, until age 16 they must be accompanied= by an adult. The parent or adult is responsible for membership and tournament fees. The youngsters cannot appear in the newspaper and any money won by the youngster shall be paid to the adult or guardian with them. The club is lim= ited to 75 members.

= 2)&n= bsp; Sportsmanship: Members are expected= to maintain the highest level of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation.

= a.&n= bsp; Any infraction of these such as bei= ng ticketed at a tournament for anything other than a safety check will be gro= unds for disqualification from the tournament and forfeiture of all money, troph= ies and points won.

= b.&n= bsp; If they are ticketed and no one fin= ds out until later date the angler will be disqualified from the next tournament, = and will have to return all money and trophies also they will lose all points m= ade at that tournament where the infraction happened.

= c.&n= bsp; No alcoholic beverages are allowed = in the boat or at the weigh-in. The 50 yard rule is in effect at all times dur= ing a tournament.

= d.&n= bsp; If any angler is caught with more t= han the maximum state limit of 5 bass per angler in their live well will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

3) Live bait will not be permitted. Only one casting or spinning rod may be used at= any one time.

= a.&n= bsp;     All bass must be caught alive in a conventional sporting manner.

= b.&n= bsp;     Contestants must not depart from the boat to land a fish.

= c.&n= bsp;     All fishing must be done from a boa= t.

= d.&n= bsp;     All bass must be at least 12 inches= or more in length unless specified otherwise according to state regulation.

= e.&n= bsp;     Each legal bass weighed in alive wi= ll be awarded 1 bonus ounce. Anyone late to the weigh – in will be penal= ized 1 pound for every minute they are late up to 5 minutes at which time they a= re disqualified.

= f.&n= bsp;      The president of the club or his designee is the official timekeeper. Each angler will pick one fish to be weighed in as his or her big bass, only one fish will be weighed.

= g.&n= bsp; The President will be in charge of = the Banquet.

4)   Boating Safety:

a.      Safe boating conduct must be observed at all times by all members.

b.      All outboard motors must not exceed U.S. Coast Guard regulations in there ruling Nov.1, 1972.

c.      Every boat must have all required Coast Guard safety equipment.

d.      We urge you to have a livewell to adequately maintain your catch of fish.

e.   We recommend that you have a kill switch on all motors over 75 hp, functional bilge pump, and life jackets should be worn during outboard motor operation= s.

5)=    Membership dues are $ 15.00 a year, if you join after June 30 the fee is only $7.50. <= /p>
a.=    The club pays the reigning Vice Presidents dues.

6)   All tournaments will be held within a 75-mile radius of Zanesville, Ohio, except one tournament per year, which will be allowed to be held within 100 miles of Zanesville. This lake will not be considered for the Classic.

7)   The tournament entry fee is $20.00 per tournament per member =

a.   $15.00 goes for trophies and cash prizes,

b.   $1.00 goes for Big Bass,

c.    $1.00 for the 10 pound pot,

d.   $1.00 goes for the Classic payout,

e.   $2.00 goes for the banquet.

f.     The Classic entry fee is $15.00 with an option $5.00 Big Bass pot.

8)   Tournament Committee: The Vice President is the head of the committee, which consists = of him and four club members. The Vice President will preside over all weigh-i= ns. His decision will be the final decision in length, weight and any other questions concerning the weigh-in.

a.      The committee has the responsibility for making out the tournament schedule for= the year, consisting of DATES, TIMES, AND LAKES to be fished.

b.   They are responsible for inspections of the boats prior to the tournaments.

c.    They must also fish at least 10 tournaments a year.
d.   During the weigh-in a tournament committee member must help with the measuring of = the fish.

e.   The tournament schedule shall have at least 4 limited horsepower lakes and the remainder to be unlimited horsepower lakes.

f.     The angler will also receive 10 show up points for each tournament fished you <= u>must fish to receive the 10 points.

g.   There is a penalty of 8 oz for bringing more than one short fish to the sc= ales in a tournament.

h.   Big Bass of each tournament is worth 10 bonus points.

i.     There is a penalty of 4 oz for bring dead fish to the scales.

j.     All fish must be in a weigh bag with adequate water for the fish to survive. 1<= sup>st offense will be a warning, 2^nd offense you will be disqualifi= ed.

k.   Short fish rule: Only one short fish can be brought to the scales per person, if = more than one short fish is brought to the scales the weight of the extra fish w= ill count against your total weight. (A courtesy board will be available before= you weight your fish.)

9)   Points System: Points will be awarded as follows:        =

1^st   place   100

2^nd place      95

3^rd place       92

4^th place       90

5^th place       89

6^th place       88

10= )    Classic Qualification:

a.   To qualify for the Classic you must finish in the top 1/3 in the points

b.   Win a tournament in the regular season

c.    Anyone who fishes 9 at of 10 tournaments

d.   If you pre-pay for all the tournaments of th= at year you are eligible to fish the classic without fishing those tournaments= . If you ask for your money back due to missing a tournament the above does not apply. By pre-paying you will not receive the 10 show-up points if you don’t show for that tournament.

e.   Last year’s Classic winner if he didn’t qualify the other four ways.

f.     The club treasury will add all money left ov= er after the banquet expense and the 10 pound pot money are removed to go towa= rd the Classic (Also see rule #18).

11) Tie Breakers

1)   Total weight including live fish bonus

2)   Number of fish

3)   Big Bass weight (no bonus)

4)   Flip of a coin

&nb= sp;         In the event of a tie you will be awarded the points for the position that you finished in after the tie breaker system was used. No one will receive the = same points. (This only applies to the first five places)<= /b>

12) Rule Changes:

a.   A new law cannot be removed for 1 yr, unless it causes monetary or liability problems for the club.

b.   All new or amended laws must pass by a majority vote of present club members. <= o:p>

c.    Final changes and updates in the by-laws will be made at the October meeting.

      13) 10 Pou= nd Pot: Rules as follows

a.   Contestant must be paid up to date to be eligible to win the money from the year prior= .

b.   Each year the pot starts off with no more than $500.00 in it. =

c.    At the end of the year all monies in excess of $500.00 will go into the club treasury.

d.   The 10 Pound Pot is not available to be won at the Classic.

e.   If you are a first year member you are only eligible to win the money paid in during that year, NO monies will be paid to you from the year before.<= /o:p>

f.     If the 10 pound pot is broken at 10# 2oz, it is progressive, it takes 10# 3oz, plus to break it the next time in the same year.<= /p>
g.   Each year it starts off at 10# even If you miss a tournament you must pay a $1.00 prior to fishing the next tournament to be eligible for the 10 lb pot for t= hat tournament, if you miss 3 tournaments then you owe $3.00 etc.

h.   If you miss a whole year and you paid your membership dues for that year, then= you must pay for the previous year to be eligible for the 10lb pot.<= /span>

14) The Classic will be decided during the same time as = the tournament schedule, and decided from the lakes fished that year excluding = any lake farther than 75 miles from Zanesville.

a.   The Classic lake will be off limits SEVEN DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE CLASSIC= . NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

b.   The first place trophy will be known as the BOB PAGE MEMORIAL TROPHY, in memory= of Bob Page.

c.    The Big Bass trophy will be known as the Denny Hall Memorial.=

15) The Classic lakes will be from the lakes of the prev= ious year with the most fish caught in that tournament these will be put into a = hat and drawn.

a.   This will include the best two of the unlimited lakes and two of the best 9.9 la= kes.

b.   The previous year’s Classic will be eligible for the drawing if it qualif= ies.

16) The Classic will be a two day event on the same week= end.

a.   All that qualifies for the Classic will be eligible to fish both days.

17)   T= op six anglers are responsible for the desserts at the banquet.<= /i>

18) There will be a fifty-fifty drawing at the tournamen= ts for club members.

a.   90% of money collected will go to the Classic payout.=

b.   10% goes to the banquet.

19) All members are eligible to fish the club Open.=

20) All new members must be voted in by club members, whether at the club meeting or at the ramp

21) Weigh-in will begin 10 minutes after the tournament = is over to give everyone a chance to load their boats.

22) MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL RULES: The officers of the Y-C= ity Bassmasters will not be held responsible for property damage or injury incu= rred in any club tournament or functions held by the club.=
